Week 1 of 12 Week Challenge

I set goals for the first quarter of the year in the form of a challenge for myself:
Lose 10% of my weight in 12 weeks.

Losing that 10% has many smaller goals tied in, but it is less than 2 pounds per week and should be doable if I want it badly enough!

Here are my resluts for week 1:

Weigh in:
1/1 173.4
1/8 172.8 (-.6)

My exercise:
did a plank every day (282)
135 squats
40 push ups

Bottom line: I didn't try very hard and was happy for a small loss. Being "iced in" with kids home from school seemed to be a good excuse to eat comfort foods, eat from boredom, sit around, etc etc. That is NOT the attitude that will help me make my goal!

My weight goal for next week:170.6 will get me back on track.

    Well you know I am right beside you all the way! We just can't beat ourselves up when we slip this year. Take it & move back on the right road. Who knows maybe this year we'll skip all the way to the end, laughing all the way!

    I know how you feel. Though it is in the 80's here I am stuck indoors with a virus. I miss going to my workout. & I feel punished. We both need to focus on the gifts we have emoticon

    This sounds like a good challenge, and will give you a chance to see how much you can really do as you push yourself. It is good to revisit the numbers in a couple seeks, I have to agree 1 and half pounds a week is not easy when you are getting closer to a goal weight, but we all need to challenge ourselves and not take the easy way.
    Just remember to keep those goals real and attainable so that you do not lose your motivation.

    I know you will work hard and get to your healthy goal.

    I'll be honest, I think that a pound and a half per week is pretty difficult to hit without extreme measures. And then you would need to sustain those extreme measures for a good long while until your body reset itself. How do you plan to maintain the loss? Your body is not going to be happy with that level of sudden displacement, I think.
