Warm weather starting to cool off.

Tuesday, January 07, 2014

The weather has still been in the upper 70's & low 80's. It is just starting to cool off. I haven't been online this last year due to pain everywhere in my hands, shoulders, etc. I am pretty sure it is the fibromyalgia rather than a Lupus flare up. I get my Holter monitor tomorrow and will wear for 48 hrs. I see my family physician on Monday morning when she should have the results. I am beginning to think the pain I was having may have been due to this flare up that may have just been starting up. I have been pretty good about walking for at least an hour each day. Today I went to the market around 11:30am, and then I did about 1 hour of housework. Frank went with me to take Phred for a short walk and that is just about all I could today. Didn't get my steps or miles in but I did do a lot.
It was pretty difficult for me at the market and I should have had Frank go with me. Just glad I didn't have someone asking me to reach up high for them to get something off the shelf. It was all I could do to reach the few items I needed that were a bit high, like soup cans. If I didn't have to lift above my shoulders I think I could almost handle the pain in my hands a bit easier or not.
Doing better today after 4 days of hell. It all started Friday morning after not being able to sleep all night on Thursday. I have suffered from insomnia for years, take medication and most times it works. I can only hope it continues to get better. This normally happens when it is cold not warm. Very strange indeed.
Hope everyone is doing well and keeping on track with their workouts. xo

I feel you on the shoulder, arm, hand pain. I broke my neck, shoulder and ribs in 2005 and since then, I have been a walking accident waiting to happen. My hands go numb often, and sometimes I pass out when I am washing my hair in the shower. Reaching about my shoulders causes a nerve to pinch... we call it my On/Off switch. :-) Sounds like you have one as well.

I did some ball workouts the other day and just laying on the ball had the fibro in my lower back going crazy. I can't believe that just laying on the ball was enough touch to cause pain.

So I feel you, and I feel FOR you. I hope some meds can kick in and help. The flare up is never any fun, so I hope that rest will help you out. Stay still and read... a lot of reading!

So very sorry to hear you have been suffering so much :-( Hope it eases up more. I am back to my very bad insomnia too, getting no more than 2 to 3 broken hours. The cast is uncomfortable, but not painful so its not an excuse.
One more night of extreme cold, then finally going to go up. I so live in the wrong climate for my condition :-P
    Take care of yourself!

Sorry to hear you may be dealing with FM. I have it and it's no picnic, I can tell you that!! I have been reading articles on it and it looks like the rheumatology dept. is turning it over to the neurology dept. as there are studies that speak to nerves as a primary problem. I looked for one good article on it and now can't locate it. If I do find it I will send it your way. Meanwhile, the below link (copy & paste) is a start. I do hope you are wrong though. And good luck with the Holter monitor.
