new year goals and aspiration.

Tuesday, January 07, 2014

Good Morning Folks,

This morning its about as cold as it gets. Kids are off from school today. Grampop gets to watch them. Not a difficult task. Well now Epiphany has come and gone and I am not yet written down my New Year resolutions. For now I have decided to call them goals and aspirations. It will be a busy beginning with a lot of things that do not fit in the resolution mold. So here they are:

1. Get house in Pa ready too sell.
a. First thing to do here is give it a good cleaning. This I am hoping to do next week. Weather looks like it will be good in PA.

2. Find a new life and friends in Virginia. I have started this but need to get busier. I'll try to do this with the following steps.
a. Get more active with the senior center. Lots of things I can participate in. If it ever stops
being the weekend this will get easier.

b. Connect with the story telling community. I really want to do more than connect, but for now that maybe a place to start.

c. Find a fun way to exercise. Lots of new places to explore. DC is nearby. Looking forward to new activities as well.

d. Find a writers group to belong to. I really want to do more writing as well as story telling.
Going out is difficult with S W dementia. I can do more locally now that I live with my daughter but not really as much as I like,

e. Finding a Church. This may prove to be difficult. I would like to remain a Moravian, the only way I see doing this is to start a new church as the closest is at least 30 miles away.

f. Continue to improve on my eating. This too will be difficult as a new sleever, I eat very little right now but will continue to eat more. I would like to move toward a vegetarian diet, but my not want to get all the way there.

g. Get my space in the new house to my liking. Not sure where to start here.

Seems like I got more plans than I thought. Just got to take it on day at a time I am feeling better all the time.

Bob, you've done a great job of laying out your goals. I really like that you also have an action plan in place. Awesome!! Goals are great, but if we don't have the plan to make them possible, they don't count for much. Great work!! emoticon

do one thing at a time....... sometimes getting "our own" space is a way to feel like you can now venture out..... maybe that is what you want to do first?? I know you'll not have a problem finding new friends ... you are a hoot! emoticon

What a wonderful year you have laid out for yourself! So many exciting possibilities. I wonder if your church has a virtual presence? Might it be possible to worship in virtual community at least part of the time, making the 30-mile drive to the nearest bricks-and-mortar congregation once a month or so . . . .
