First week of the year check in

Sunday, January 05, 2014

This year I am making small but consistent changes in my lifestyle, just like I did last year. About this time last year, my husband and I decided to make some changes, permanent changes to our lifestyle. We began cutting out sugar or cutting back and adding in some good choices. We were successful. My husband lost 60 pounds and I lost 26 pounds (and I have lost 56 since having my monkey in April of 2012). Even when I had days, weeks, months where I back slid, I have not gained any of that weight back.

I have about 34 pounds left until I am at a healthy weight range and I intend to get most of that, hopefully all of it, off this year (I am actually hoping by June). I am at a point where I am ready to make some drastic changes because I have seen and felt how food impacts my day to day life. Today I had a revelation on my obedience to God. I am ready to make small changes. I am ready to do my 100 days of real food. This past week I cut out fried foods...I did a great job at it actually. This week was a success.

This next week I want to make another small change of adding in 2 fruits/veggies every meal and week 1 of the taming your sweet tooth. I also want to workout. My plan is to do yoga to begin with. I need structure and I have realized that like most human nature, I do not do well with don'ts, no's, and not's. With that said, I am eliminating all of those words. It is all about the psychology.
