Preserving avocados...

Avocados were cheaper than usual so I bought 6. I looked up how to preserve them. Then I mashed some and also used the blender (nutribullet) to mix the mash with lemon juice. I packed this in snack sized baggies and froze them. I feel so virtuous. This is the first time I have ever done that. chris

I have frozen avocados for a long time but never added lemon juice before. Does it change the taste? I usually just use mine for guacamole when I thaw it back out.

my tree had so many avocados this year, and we gave them away until no one wanted them, I did try to snack bags, one avocado per bag, and took out the air and froze them, have not tried yet, but anxious to see if they are good, Thanks

Interesting - I would have never thought of that! I also read that if you just want to use a portion of an avocado, peel off the portion that you are using, then leave the peel and intact. Take out the seed only when you get to that part of the avocado.
