Happy New Year!

I can't believe we have started yet another year... It seems that the older I get, the faster the years fly by. And yet, it is still the same 24 hours in a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days in a year.

Two and a half months have passed since my last blog post, and where have I been? For the most part, fending off illnesses in my children and myself. emoticon Colds, fevers, earaches, pneumonia, a UTI... It has been a (seemingly) unending stream of germs -- or the same ones that have been playing tag-team with the kids and me. Just drains me.

The other big event that has affected our household is that my husband got a new job. It was a very welcome change, but still, any change is stressful and there is always an adjustment period. Because he is working different hours with his new position, we are all having to get used to this "new normal" and what it means for all our schedules.

All of this has left me putting myself last, which means that I have not been making good progress toward improving my health. Amazingly enough, I have been able to maintain about a 4% weight loss over the past 1.5 years that I have been on SP. It's not much (and I have a long way to go), but it's something I can cling to and use to kick-start what I began in July 2012.

The holidays knocked us way off-kilter and illnesses have not yet left the house (DD presented herself with a fever and sore throat in the middle of the night last night, so we are in for another round), but I need to figure out how to persevere in the face of the interruptions and obstacles. It's always going to be something, right?

Here's wishing for a successful 2014 for all of us!

    I now how you feel. I have a hard time when tiimes are tough doing what i should be doing. Just do your best even if is ten minutes of walking. It will make you feel more refreshed

    Happy New Year! Glad you're still here.
    Life seems to throw us curveballs all the time. Definitely a plus to learn how to roll with the punches :)

    There is so MUCH to be said for maintaining! But hoping you can juggle and manage the stress to allow for putting yourself at a higher rung of priority in 2014! :-)
