7 days into Christmas

Tuesday, December 31, 2013

So this week's challenge for A& I is to talk about how Christmas went and how did the goals I set go....

Well, Christmas was alright- I visited with some family I haven't seen in a long while. I didn't get to enjoy any holiday meal in the traditional sense- I ate alone for lunch and dinner- since the hubby worked and then he wasn't hungry because they catered in a great Christmas lunch for them.

I spent a few days at my in-laws... which was nice, but I spent most of the time sitting around and nibbling on unhealthy foods... (not much else to do, and anything I wanted to go out and do- wasn't what was going to happen emoticon )

I feel that it has not been a successful Christmas so far- just not making the things that I plan to do! But fortunately there are still 5 days to go this Christmas- anything can happen!!!

**** additional note: I did enjoy myself with family, but that side believes in sitting around, maybe doing some socializing but really everyone does there on thing on a computer screen and getting out and being active isn't really a planned thing or anyone wants to join. I think all the craziness I just wanted to celebrate and play games together or go out and be active.

My expectation are the same as yours. I think what happens during family board games does serve to bring us back together. I think you should bring up a suggestion for an electronic night out for everyone, and bring out some board games, or go bowling together, or ice skating . . . Hopefully you'll have more "takers" than you've had so far. Good luck!

I'm sorry it didn't work out the way you wanted, but this is a new day, a New Year. I'm with Jakenell. I wish I could have all those holidays back that I complained there wasn't enough to do, just to have those people with me again.

I'm glad you were able to visit family members for Christmas. I remember the times we would play games but, I guess in the computer age, things just aren't the same.
All the best to you for 2014!

You're right: 5 days is a good opportunity to accomplish lots of things. And then, like Ebeneezer Scrooge, you can keep Christmas in your heart all year long. Happy New Year! emoticon

At least you got to visit with some family members that you haven't seen in a long time and spend time with your in-laws. I'm sorry your Christmas wasn't better or what you wanted it to be. Enjoy the rest of your time off and make the most of the next few days before you go back to school! emoticon emoticon

Sorry you didn't have the Christmas you would have wanted but you did some very positive things, like spending time with family you haven't seen for awhile and seeing in-laws. So enjoy the rest of your time off by doing something very special for yourself, because you deserve it!!

The good part of the holidays was spending the time with loved ones - just being with them. I used to complain about doing things I didn't want to over the holidays because others wanted to. How I wish I could take back those complaints and my whining - I'd love to be able to spend time with them again.
Look at the bright side - you weren't at school, you weren't grading papers (alas, you probably were!) - Gee, now that I think about it - you were free for a few days!
Enjoy the rest of your break.
