Hello
Last day of 2013. I say it every year....where did this year go? It left so fast.
I wish I can say that about my weight!
I love this time of the year because it's a chance to start fresh. Time to get rid of the past and move on. It's good for the mind and body.
Reflecting back on this year, I have had a few hard lessons regarding people and family members. I have been "burned" before and it's unfortunately part of life. I just don't want to be bitter. It only hurts me in the long run. I had a very hard time in drawing that fine line between I forgive you and I am not a doormat which you can disrespect.
2014 will be about.....
walking deeper and closer to the Lord.
not hanging on to old hurts and focusing a little more on me. Creating a little "me" time.
not stressing out about every... single... thing.
sticking to the promises I have kept for myself. (I failed at most of my promises to me in 2013)
get at least 8 hours of sleep. I am horrible about this. I know it's hindering my weight loss.
take it day by day....it's not a sprint and God is in control.
I am starting the Rookie Running Program from SP and I have joined a January Challenge on one of the teams.
So New Year's is at my house this year. I can tell you that no one else is on Spark People that are coming. So my plan is to regulate my portions, drink plenty of water before and talk about the awesome Spark People. Maybe others will join. If I mess up, I am not going to stress or beat myself up about it.
We are going to try something new here this year. I got the idea from my mom in NY. She told me that the city over the weekend had lines of people up and down the block. They were writing down all the negative things that had happened to them in 2013. People can write anything down from bad relationships to bad health in 2013. They then had shredders where their letters were shredded....kind of like closing the chapter on negative things to start 2014 new. When the ball drops in Times Square on New Year's Eve, they will use it as confetti.
I love that idea so much that I have paper, pens, and a shredder by my door for guests. When the ball drops here, we will use it as confetti along with the kids using their poppers.
I hope it works out.
Well, I have lots to do today......
Wishing everyone a wonderful end to 2013. Have a BLESSED New Year. May God keep you all safe and healthy under his wing in 2014.
Hugs to all.
