"Back in the Saddle Again" seems to be running through my head...

Probably because that is how I feel today. The end of the year has been a whirlwind! Career changes, holidays, vacation time, and getting out of my routine has meant a slip in my commitment to my health. As the year comes to a close, it is time to recommit and regroup! Time to get back into the Saddle Again!

A quick recap of the past month - my boss left, which opened the door to an opportunity for me to step up and shine! It's been incredible! I'm achieving one of my goals of improving my career and no longer having just a "job". After a particularly crazy week, my CEO pulled me aside to not only say Thank You, but to compliment me and let me know that I am well on my way towards a promotion and the raise I requested. He let me know that the work I have done has been a home run and that my efforts are not lost on anyone here. It's a GREAT feeling to finally have the positive support I need to really bloom!

Of course, with that came the holidays. They arrived like a hurricane - I could see it coming, but didn't feel like I was as prepared as I should have been. I feel like one of the buildings that survived the hurricane, but needs a lot of repair!

The nice thing is that with the support of my husband, I have the tools I need to get back on track. For Christmas, he gave me the Spark Tracker! Yay! I can now accurately keep track of my fitness and stay on top of my activity level each day. Our family gift was a Wii, and each of us got a game for it. Mine was the Your Shape fitness program. It not only provides exercise routines, but comes with a camera to monitor your movements for accuracy and track your success. It'll be a nice addition to my workouts, and should help shake things up a bit! Plus, one of my concerns is feeling like I'm not pushing myself enough - and this program keeps track of your progress and increases the difficulty as you go.

So, now for the New Year! 2014 is going to be MY YEAR! I can feel it! I'm going to achieve my goals and next New Years Eve, I'll be reflecting on my awesome year!

Now to set up my action steps!

1. Log back into Spark People and start Tracking again.
2. Research and plan my meals and recipes for the family.
3. Wear my spark tracker ALL the time.
4. Get started with my Your Shape program on Wii.
5. Complete my Vision Collage and keep it in plain site.
6. Get Serious! It's time to really achieve my goal - weigh, measure, track.
