What I found out while shopping today !!!!!

Sunday, December 29, 2013

With little to do today, Hubby and I decided to go shopping after lunch.

Well, we did go shopping to Kohl's, Bed-bath & beyond, and Ross.....We didn't buy a thing. I do have a tale to tell on me though. Going from one store to the next, it was raining really hard. I told Hubby my foot was getting wet on the bottom. I lifted my foot and the whole bottom of the shoe was cracked all of the way across......lol...I looked and the other shoe was the same. I would never had known if it hadn't been raining. In all fairness to the Keds black tennis shoes, I have probably had them 10 years. Hubby always says I need to clean out my closet and get rid of old things and I just keep them until something like this happens. We were walking to the next store just laughing so hard. Well, I was laughing so hard and Hubby was just shaking his head. When I got home, I took the shoes off and put them in the trash in the garage. I think Hubby thinks I am going to get them out and wear them on dry days !!!! lol.

Yes for sure, I can relate...went on a cruise, got out a pair of dress sandals...they had hardly been worn but got old & brittle...because they were folded up in the suitcase...the bottoms had cracked right through...I still laugh at my attempts to be frugal...it ended up costing me more! emoticon

Nancy, you are definitely not alone. I wear clothes until they wear out or get too big.

Keep dry. Also, keep that great sense of humor. Frugality is a virtue practiced with moderation.

emoticon Don't feel alone. I've had shoes fall apart as I was walking. It would be embarrassing, if it wasn't so funny.

I had to laugh at this. When I have comfy shoes, I never-ever get rid of them! I guess the next time that you go shopping, you may have to add a pair of shoes to your list, that is unless, hubby is right and you do dig them out of the trash when he isn't looking. emoticon

I have to laugh because at my uncles funeral my husbands favorite shoes that he had when he was in the military (actually a very expensive pair back in the day) well they started to fall apart as he was walking by the casket hahahahaha I was like what the hell is that black stuff on the ground? hahahaha
He said OMG my shoes are falling apart hahaha I was laughing so much I thought I was going to pee hahahahaha

I hear ya. I haven't had my shoes that long, but I will wonder occasionally why my foot hurts where it didn't hurt before. I will find a bulge on one side and discover I've been rolling my foot. NOT good. Yes, I'm one of those women who wore heels with narrow, pointy toes.

Can you say, "Dumb?" Now I'm paying for it. Even the flats are causing me problems. I just read on the health pages about nerves that get swollen, putting more pressure on them, etc. I've had those removed 3 times. Man, they hurt.

My advice to all young things: Don't wear shoes like that. I don't care what the fashion is. You WILL pay the consequences. Be wise:

Too Funny. I had a pair of wedge Penny Loafers that I loved. They were so comfortable. I'd had them for years and like you, I didn't realize they were so bad until my feet got wet! yep, split on the bottom. I tried getting them fixed - not the same feel and I tossed them. I've looked for the same brand and same style with no luck. At least we can laugh at ourselves!!
