Lymphatic massage

Sunday, December 29, 2013

Stepped on the scales Friday and was up 6 pounds, all fluid in my ankles mostly. So my daughter and her friend came up last evening and drained my lymph system. What a difference that makes. Have now had 9 radiations and 1 chemo treatment. I think there must have been prednisone in the chemo treatment because that is when all this got worse. They gave me 4 bags - 1st one benedryl, 2nd anti-nausea and then 2 bags of chemicals. I came out of chemo feeling better than when I went in, so am sure there had to be prednisone in one of those bags. The lymphatic system is ignored quite a bit, the Drs. do not talk about it and when you ask about the swollen ankles, they say, "Yeah that is part of the illness, I can write you a script for lasik. Lasik does not do good things for me, so I have an herbal that I take, but sometimes you just have to flush the lymph system. Had my son stay with me after the chemo, big help. He caught me up on some of the chores I can no longer do, because I just do not have enough air. Also had to have them back out for my oxygen concentrator was plugged again. The chemo sure gave me brain fog, so a bit difficult to continue working on computer.

Take care of your lymph system, it is more important than we think.

Pat good to hear from you and want you to know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers all through. I understand Chemo does that to all….. so hang in there brave girl, you are a fighter and you will be back to your cheerful self soon.

May the Lord bless your children for taking such good care of you….. Affectionate and caring children are a divine blessing.

I have this issue with swelling in my ankles too and get on Lasik every 2 weeks, no option and with my limited mobility those 3 days a terrible for me……

God Bless you and will continue praying for you

    Hugs, Prayers & Blessings

Chemo will do that to you and yes you do get brain fog. You can ask if they are giving you a steroid and most likely they are.
