The "C" word...

Saturday, December 28, 2013

(Shame on all you who thought I meant anything less appropriate...)

NOBODY wants to discuss the problem but constipation is evil.

I have increased fiber like crazy and followed tons of age inspired wisdom bestowed on me by my great grannie.... and I tend to still be tied in knots.

If this is TMI for you....well you found the wrong blog.... sorry!

I have got to do something is uncomfortable and if I take a softner or laxative, it a guarantee I will be cramping for 24 hours and obtain maybe 1 movement....

what can I do... does anyone else deal with this? Makes me feel so.....ugh!!

I thought the c word was cancer. Relieved to read that it isn't. Prunes always worked when I was little. I don't have that problem, so no advice to offer.

Have you tried putting heat on your lower stomach to relax the muscles? You should see your doctor if you've had this problem for more than a week. Not to scare you, but I know two people who waited so long they needed surgery. One had a bowel obstruction and the other had a perforated intestine. They were not good experiences.

I was hospitalized for 3 days from having constipation, this is no laughing matter. They said I could rupture my intestine. I had been with out a movement for a week. This some thing you have to talk to a doctor about. They said I should not go more than three days without a movement. I am on a stool softer called Amitiza witch loosens me up a lot in one hour. I take it every other day as needed.
