A Very Quiet Christmas

Wednesday, December 25, 2013

I think it's been my quietest Christmas day ever! We didn't get home from church until about 12:30 am so we slept or stayed in bed until about 7:30. Then I got up and baked the monkey bread I had prepared before leaving for church last night. We had no gifts to open-just stocking suffers so we had breakfast and read the paper waiting for our daughter to get up. At 32 she still isn't an early riser but then she usually 10 or 11 pm. I finished addressing all of my holiday cards-can't call them Christmas cards since I didn't get them done before today!! We took them down to the post office and dropped them off so family and old friends should be receiving their cards next week. I posted a copy of the picture card on my sparkpage-me with my two grandkids. I did manage to burn a pie today as well as the edges of the ham-that's never happened before so maybe I really do need a new oven-this one really isn't that old. I did talk to my middle daughter-she was using her new washing machine and started laughing. I guess when it changes cycles and stuff it plays music. That is just strange. Well that has been my exciting day! Other than sparking and facebooking there's nothing going on! Hope everyone has had a wonderful day!

It might it been quiet but it sounds as you accomplished a lot.....even burning the pie.
My Christmas was quiet too, granddaughter sick with the flue and me getting sick too.
But it was nice to just sit with the family and enjoy the moment.
    Happy New Year!
