Early Christmas Present

Sunday, December 22, 2013

We had a serious health scare today. DD was in a lot of R abdominal pain, so I took her to Med Express who in turn referred her to the ER. Tests and 4 hours later, she was diagnosed with a kidney infection and a urinary tract infection. I am just glad it was not a kidney stone. I was sooooo worried!!! All I could think of was how much pain she would be would be in if it were a kidney stone or appendix.

I hope your DD will be feeling better soon.I had a kidney infection after my third child.I had to wear a catheter for a month to have the bladder and kidneys heal.Never any trouble afterwards .I can tell you the pain is unbearable with a high fever. Two gentlemen were in the emerg on either side of me with kidney stones both were given morpine.Truely crying like they had just delivered babies also.Yes Mom you were right to worry it can be serious.Be sure to go back for a check up to see kidney function is back to normal.

Glad it was nothing major although UTI's can be painful, you should get some uristat it's over the counter if she's got the burning (not if you buy her the uristat it will turn urine a bright orange so don't get scared but it does wonders!!!!!!!!!!!).... Have her drink some cranberry juice also.
I hope she's feeling better in time for Christmas!
