How is it Christmas Already?

Saturday, December 21, 2013

Wow! 2013 has just flown by and here it is almost Christmas. I swear the older I get the faster time flies. I've had a very interesting year with more downs than ups but that's OK...I KNOW 2014 will be better.

We are spending Christmas at my daughter and son-in-laws. I love being with my grandbabies during the holidays. They come to Nana and Papa's for part of their Christmas vacation and we have fun playing games, doing crafts and going on adventures. But first I had to let Molly (our Beagle) stay with them for a week. Last year they taught her a new trick and she gained about 3 lbs. She still remembers the trick and I'm sure it's because they emptied the whole box of treats while training her. I finally got the 3 lbs off so I hope she's not gaining it back.

Now for me. I did not fare as well. Of course I gained what I lost so I am now starting over. I did lose a little from August to October but not enough to say I put in more than minimum effort towards losing. When I logged in today and saw my last weight which was in August, I really wanted to kick myself. I was in a really good place. At my lowest in a long time and I gained it back. Seems I can ONLY lose 35 lbs and that's it!

I know I need to do some exercising but I just can't seem to get past the pain in my back, knees and thighs. I'm sure it's the key to getting past the 35 lbs.

I did very well with Thanksgiving only eating what I really love and only having one serving. I even had dessert and lost a few pounds. I didn't deny myself anything so I didn't feel slighted. So that's my plan for Christmas.

Merry Christmas!

Your plan sounds a lot like my plan for letting myself enjoy those goodies I really love during the holidays. If I deprive myself too much I will just eat more "stuff" that I don't need to compensate! My mindset says I can do it starting in January 2014!

Well here is to 2014 being a better year. I need to step it up a notch I the losing department. As we age this darn areas hurt a lot. I know if I lose weight my back, knees and feet will feel better, but you are right it is getting the exercise in that will help. Best of luck.

Yep, the older we get, it seems that time flies faster. That means less time to do what we need or want to do...because we're just slowing down a little.

    Happy sparking!
