I stepped on the scale this morning, in spite of the fact that we went out to eat last night, and ate later than usual. I figured I would be up a little, but wanted to see what the "damage" was. Instead, I saw the numbers 135 for the first time! 135.8 to be exact, but still! 135 is my goal weight, and we're only halfway through December. I am so happy and excited!! This means that I can work in a few little Christmas treats more easily, AND I get to start the New Year without having to make a resolution to lose a bunch of weight. I am so very grateful I found Spark, and that this method has worked so well for me. I only wish I had discovered it years ago!
To reward myself, yesterday I ordered a pair of boots. I have never been able to wear boots as an adult because my calves were always too big. The very last place I lose weight is my legs. Now, I think they just might fit. We'll see, but I'm hopeful.
I also plan to reward myself by making an appointment at the dentist and getting my teeth whitened, because they are very yellowish and I've had students sometimes (with their honesty and lack of tact!) ask me if I forgot to brush my teeth!

Now I'm excited to begin the adventure of learning how to maintain my weight. I haven't decided exactly what my plan will be yet. I'm open to any suggestions people might have. So far, my thoughts are leaning toward continuing with pre-planning my menus each day, except for special occasions, so that the majority of the time I'll know exactly what my calorie intake is, and that my ratios are perfectly balanced. I think I will probably do that at least until the end of May, to give myself a good half year to get the feel of what the right amount of food and exercise is. I enjoy Spark so much, though, that I may just continue doing this forever. It really helps to keep me accountable to check in every morning, and to read that goal board and all.
