Clothes shopping trip!!

Partial success (actually very successful, but only became partial when I got home)!!!

So I have an interview tomorrow to expand on the characteristics of my job (pretty much adding a role to my current duties) and I need an interview outfit! I desperately need formal pants since all of mine were too big. I went straight to the size 10 section - everything I tried on was too big - except one pair! It was Express and I was super stoked. They were grey and pinstripe. I've always wanted grey pinstripe pants. My initial thought process was that "these are a bit snug compared to the other size 10s I've had on, but hey, it's Express and they probably run small". I was taking them off and happened to glance at the tag, they weren't a size 10, they were a size 6! A SIZE FREAKING 6!!! I was SHOCKED. But I thought it just must be the cut. So I go back out and try on the size 8s (which there were actually two in petite length, because c'mon, how would I ever get pants hemmed by tomorrow!). BUT, they were still TOO BIG!! So I went to the size 6. All of the size 6s I tried on fit! AND, there was a short length pair, so I'm all set! I even tried on ANOTHER Express one (exact same pant) to see if it fit (since the exact same cuts of pants in the exact same size from the exact same store can fit completely differently)- and they still fit! You know what that means? SIZE 6!! I'm a SIZE 6 in dress pants!! Now as far as jeans? I didn't get that far, I don't need more jeans right now. My Loft size 10 are a little loose, but I don't think an 8 would fit. Some of the size 10s I have could easily be a size 8. I do have a size 6 of the Target brand boyfriend cut jeans, those fit just right. So... yay!!

Then the shirts. I thought that I could be super formal and where my blazer top with the pants, but the jacket is slightly big in the shoulder and because the pants, although short length, are still slightly too long (they do work though!), so I don't want to look too frumpy. So I thought sweaters. I remembered my last shopping trip where all the shirts were too big (all size medium). I simply thought too big because that's the style right now (loose and not fitted), but I didn't have the motivation/want to try on size smalls. So I went straight to the size small sweaters and found one that was interview appropriate, but I didn't like the way it fit (way too big in the sleeves). I thought about what I currently owned and decided that I could make something work.

All the size medium sweaters and cardigans I have that I can dress up are TOO big!! (Yes, I rarely get to wear normal clothes, so I don't go through my closest very often. I do need new scrubs ASAP though. Mine are all too big! --I'm waiting for the verdict of this additional job though. The new job is business casual dress and my current job is scrubs. If I get the additional job, I'll get to wear scrubs 20 hours a week and normal clothes 20 hours a week - that means SHOPPING TRIP!!!). So I have a sweater that I found that works, so I'm going to wear that instead.

Super excited all my clothes are too big, annoyed I have to spend more money, shocked that I'm in size 6 dress pants :)
