still doing well

Wednesday, December 11, 2013

I haven't blogged for a while. I am still doing well! I have continued with the intermittent fasting, fasting for a min of 16 hrs per day. I am down 2.8 lb since increasing my IF by an hr per day on 11/23. I also planned on eating 1900 cal or less each day, but have gone over on 6 out of 19 days. I have noticed a pattern where I seem to eat in these 2 day cycles. I eat when I am hungry and stop when I am somewhat full and I will eat 2400 cal one day and 1200 cal the next. My average is on target, but I really do feel like eating much more some days than others. (Maybe a weekly cal goal or ave cal goal would make more sense in light of this?) I am exercising a lot as always, but I did miss a few days at the beginning of the month due to a virus and that is dragging my ave down. I also find it hard to go out into the weather like tonight when it was -4 deg F (but I did go!) This is typical Chicago weather, of course, but I still prefer summer! But, once I get to the gym, the workout is easy compared to venturing out into the freezing cold. I had a HIDA scan today to see how my gallbladder is functioning. An ultrasound a couple weeks ago found gallstones. I have had occasional SEVERE episodes of sudden INTENSE pain and bloating in the upper abdomen. It does not happen often, but when it does, it is like flipping a switch. The pain starts immediately and is instantly severe. These episodes seem to happen after eating a larger meal, especially one that contains a fair amount of fat. Of course, realizing this, I mostly graze now. My poor husband! He just wants a real meal as a family, but I am paranoid for a good reason, so he will have to bear with me. I look forward to getting answers. :-)
