Easing Back in the Saddle

Tuesday, December 10, 2013

Please forgive my absence friends. I don't manage changes in routine well. Not something I particularly like, but it's a truth I have realized about myself. Mine started with Thanksgiving, as it did for all of you. I had the simultaneous pleasure of losing the functionality of my stove and oven. I've been patiently waiting since the eve of Thanksgiving for someone to come and fix this. If it weren't for a camp stove we had, we would have really been up a creek. So I am so thankful for the camp stove, but I have not had the healthiest diet. I don't eat much in volume, but the food choices are more limited now.

And I have been more scarce, lately. I've been watching my bandwidth and such, but I should be on more. Thank you to all my sweet emoticon s for coming by giving me goodies and leaving comments on my spark page. You were all helping to keep Spark on my mind as well.

I was born with a perfectionistic gene. I need to learn to continue to make lemonade with lemons and continue forward when things are not perfect. I need to be able to make new plans when I get surprised. I'm guessing a few of you can relate.

Anyway, I did start exercising again last night. Hats off to my friends TempleMakeover and Serene-Bean for their amazing motivation and results. They are really helping me stay motivated right now.

Not that I am a fan of quoting characters from Pixar movies... but after reading your blog this came to my mind...

that is so awesome! Good for you! Blogging just shows you are still in the right mind set. Wish you lived closer to me, I have a giant roaster I would be happy to let you use! And a microwave too! I know what it is like not having a (good) oven. I have one and it works but something is "off" and so it tends to get hotter and I have to adjust as it bakes too. stinks! but the type of it is near impossible to find and the closest one I saw that MIGHT work was a couple thousand $$$ ya, not happening! Well, I hope you get it fixed fast and just look at this like it aint nuttin' but a new challenge! you got this!!!

I hope that you manage to get back on track soon! Something I am working on as well is dealing with my perfectionism. The key to losing weight is knowing that we aren't going to be perfect all of the time. Just try making small steps towards your goals, because every little bit helps! Just makes sure you don't stop and restart go from where you are. If you aren't eating healthy that's fine just done make it a habit and explain to yourself why you did it and then try and do better next time. Stay consistent! I hope you had a great day!

Good job in getting back to exercise even though you've been having a rough time! I do think that accepting that life is never perfect is one way to ensure that the rough days won't start bad spirals. I admire your persistence. We're gonna do this!
