Raw Food Detox!

Monday, December 09, 2013

I've been baking a lot lately. And by baking I mean mixing ingredients in a bowl, eating about half of the raw dough and the rest gets thrown in the oven and pretty much forgotten as I'm too overly full to care about the finished results....
So! I'm starting a Raw Food Detox tomorrow. I've done one before from the same restaurant and LOVED it. It includes a protein smoothie in the a.m., a salad with a 'protein booster' for lunch, a juice blend for afternoon, and a 'bento box' (that includes dessert!) for dinner. Everything is fresh, everything is raw, it's packed with protein and comes out to 1500 cal a day! How awesome is that?! I 'did' a juice cleanse once. And by 'did' I mean, I drank juice, felt hungry about an hour later, then added my regular daily food on top of all of the juice I was drinking. I ended up wasting like $100 and surprise-surprise!...gained like a pound.
My goal isn't really to lose any weight, it's more that I need a jolt of resetting my routine of: wake up, run, eat a healthy breakfast (because I'm feeling post-run virtuous, of course!) then eat a lunch, and keep snacking, and snacking, and snacking...
The hardest part, hands down, is the 'no coffee' aka/ taking away my main reason for waking up in the morning, for three days. Yikes!

Ouch on the coffee! I have done something like this before, juice and salad and veg soup for a day, to remind myself that I don't need all the treats. But only one day! Bento box sounds fun.
