Week 1: Moderation Pays Off After All!

Oy oy oy. It's been a week, in more ways than one. This week, I focused on several different things:

1. Taking my vitamins
2. Getting enough water
3. Being conscious of my choices

I can say I was successful on all fronts. I didn't eat grilled chicken and vegetables day in and day out. Quite the opposite actually. I had one of my Raw Fit shakes for breakfast every day (which has really helped with my morning lull I experience). About half the week I brought a balanced lunch, the other half I grabbed soup, salad or some delicious pasta for lunch. I tracked for part of the week, and just paid attention the other part of the week. I ate smoked almonds and chocolate covered raisins almost every day as a snack. I went out for Vietnamese, Mexican, and made Indian. I drank wine and margaritas.

The result?

-2.2 pounds. Yay!

It was a great feeling to remember what it was like not to mentally destroy myself for every food choice that I make. I ate what I loved, but I ate in moderation.

I feel encouraged. I picked up my Polar Dash swag yesterday, and a pair of Under Armour Storm Gear pants (that don't really fit but I am going to make it work) in the event that New Year's Day is also -11F when the 5K takes place. I am also leaving the option open to pay the away fee to receive my medal if it is dangerously cold. It was 4 above last year and I was a crabby mofo when I finished because I couldn't feel my feet or my thighs. I swore I would never do it again. Yeah.

All in all, good times. Two more weeks of school before I get a month off. Going to try to rekindle a romance and see if it was meant to be. Should be another interesting month.
