Let's see if I can successfully update every week. I'll give it a try.

I love getting on Sparkpeople to log my workouts. That really motivates me to get that workout done. Today I feel like I'm detoxing my body from all the sweets I indulged in yesterday. First, we had a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at work. Then there was one at the public library that my kids were singing at. Finally, one more tree lighting for our small town, again, my kids were singing. Lots of treats, very little resistance on my part. The kids helped me stop myself at home and helped to boost my spirits too. Guilt set in afterward.

Today is going much more smoothly with eating. I'm sticking to my plan. I also got a complete workout in again: elliptical for 30 min, 12 sit-ups, reverse crunches, stretching, and weights (triceps, lats, quads). I went faster on the elliptical, and got quite a workout moving it in front of the TV and back again.

For the week: Two complete workouts (similar to the above workout), one walk (1.5 miles), one weight session on its own, one stretching session on its own. I'm splitting up my workouts if I need to. This seems to be a good plan for me. With two jobs, six kids, and one husband, I just can't always fit in the complete workout all together. Splitting up the parts of my workout gives me a sense of satisfaction that I'm doing something.

Another benefit, I get to log each workout, no matter how small, on Sparkpeople for that sense of accomplishment!

You are doing an emoticon job of working out and tracking it. This time of the year doesn't help with the time restraints. Keep at it and happy tracking!
(Love that your kids are helping! No guilt, you are setting a good example and having family support is another positive your kids are seeing!)

Every effort makes a difference, no matter how small it seems at the time! Little things consistently, that's how to work it! !

Great job, Chris. I've been behind on my SparkPeople and catching up later, sometimes the next day. At least I'm getting my 6 fruits and veggies daily, keeping within my calorie goals (lots of writing down and transcribing to computer later), exercising and sleeping. Hasn't been leaving enough time to get on the computer a whole lot.

It's great that you're getting time to get your workouts in. Hope to see more of you at work.

    Happy Holidays!
