Going to do a Whole 30

Tuesday, November 26, 2013

I ordered the "It all begins with food" book today. I'm gearing up to do a "Whole 30". My goal in doing it is to get a jump start and sort of a cleansing of my body for the 30 days. I'm going to turn it into a spiritual type of fast. I know that I cannot maintain that way of eating for an entire life, but to use it as a jump start to then move into a strict primal/paleo approach will be a good fit for me, I think.

I'm working on deciding my "start date". I want to take it serious and complete the whole 30 days no matter how hard once I start.

January might be a good time. Or the day after Christmas. I don't want there to be any blocks or stumbling areas (such as Christmas dinner or Thanksgiving dinner).

My plan in the meantime until I start that is to continue my primal approach.

I also ordered the "Well Fed" cookbook. Having beautiful food is important to me and if I'm going to make this work I need some exciting recipes to look forward to. www.amazon.com/Starts-Fo

I absolutely love Whole30. I lose a ton of weight, usually around 8 lbs in that month, and I feel great... I just don't know how to avoid the sugar binge that I have at the end of each one. It's like I store up all of my cravings for the 31st day and I just can't help myself. It must be a mental thing for me because I've managed to get through the 30 days just fine but then... boom... sugar bomb!
