Finished 8 weeks

Sunday, November 24, 2013

I made it to the 150's!!! 159.0 at yesterday's weigh in and a bit off my waist.
I'm so thrilled. IP works so nothing is going to make me stray from this path.

Total loss in 8 weeks is 18 pounds, so that is a bit over an average of 2 pounds a week. Side benefit besides the weight loss is my blood pressure. It is always high, now it is 133/84. Still a bit high but not bad.

I used to dread social events because they always result in photos that make me want to cry. Not to mention the hour leading up to the party when I would go through my closet and have a small cry when most of the items wouldn't fit.

There is a party in two weeks that I'm actually excited about. I don't think my favourite dresses will fit yet, but I have a dress to wear that I bought at a fundraiser for $35. It is a one size fits all kind of dress so I bought it as a back up plan in case those zip up dresses in my closet won't zip up. No crying, I'll tie up the pretty bow in back and go out smiling.

emoticon Keep going everyone, we can do this

    Thanks so much James!

I know I'm going to need support in the maintenance and I need to always watch my carbs. I got to my goal weight about 6 years ago following the Zone Diet on my own. Over time I slowly allowed bad habits to creep back into my life and I gained back the weight.
This time I want it off for good. My genetics are just very carb sensitive. That is just the way it is.

Example of a bad habit - eating an entire bag of chips, drinking an entire bottle of red wine

stick with IP! A great diet and good for you!

In the long run you may want to join a low carb group, like the one I'm in. I did IP about a year ago for a six month stretch, but have been low carb ever since. Just send me a SPARKMAIL note and I'll invite you.
