4 funerals and a wedding!

Sunday, November 24, 2013

Yes it has been one of those years.

Cannot believe it is almost the ned of November! emoticon

As the title says 4 funerals and a wedding. emoticon emoticon

After my last blog we attended our nieces wedding which was wonderful after all the sadness of my MIL 's funeral.

The wedding was held at a resort in the country side called Evendon Park. Just a short distance from Bunbury. The extended family had made arrangements to stay for the whole weekend Sadly we couldn't leave till 4pm on the Friday and as it was 2 hours away we had to find the place in the dark of night, luckily hubby was pretty spot on with the navigating and despite a couple of "U" turns we made it!

Hubby created a bit of entertainment on the afternoon of the wedding by falling out of a canoe on the dam at the venue. It happened as he was trying to get out at the end of his peaceful canoe paddle around the dam. emoticon Yes we all laughed! A lot of us were sitting on our balconies admiring the view and it created the entertainment for the afternoon. My ex-sister in law asked hubby to do it again as she wanted to film it!

During our time at the wedding my sister in law was worried about her father as he was going to have an operation for cancer that next week. Sadly he passed away 3 days after his operation so I travelled 4.5 hours to Albany for his funeral. Hubby was unable to come due to work commitments. So it was a long trip down, the funeral was the same afternoon. It was a heart felt ceremony as this wonderful man had led an amazing life as a Queen's guard in England and also was a guard of Rudolf Hess in Germany. His grand daughter gave a wonderful eulogy, we were all in tears.

So once again I am apologising for not being a consistent Sparkfriend.

In a desperate attempt to try and get off this plateau I am on , I have joined the Michelle Bridges 12 week weight loss plan. I am into week 3 and floundering with tiredness, hot weather and being busy at work.

My overall plan is to get to bed earlier at night so I can exercise in the morning. This worked for 2 mornings last week! emoticon

So lets see how this week goes! emoticon

I am not drinking enough water at work also, so need to put a plan in place to ensure I drink more. Our weather went from winter to summer in a day! emoticon

Any way it is 9:45pm Western Australian time so I had better get this body to bed!

Thank you for being patient with me.

Sorry, the 4 funerals have sadly been , my mum, my nephew, hubby's mum and my SIL's dad. All in the last 13 months. We were all so grateful for the wedding, we all had a wonderful time.

    Dear Libby,
I too am so very sorry to hear of all your losses and your SIL's father's funeral. This really is a lot to bear, we had 3 losses in 13 months last year and it isn't easy. It sounds like the wedding had some amusing moments and helped to lift yours and DH's spirits. I haven't been on Sparks much this year either (health issues escalating) and worries with Mum's health, and found that a lot of people who used to read my blogs don't any more, so considered leaving. I'm obviously still here, just not very often... Take care Libby, all the best with the MB programme and getting your water in every day....that's something I had to get myself to do because of the side effects of my medications.

    Love and hugs, Nattacia

    Dear, dear Libby.

I'm so glad you took the time to come back to Spark and let us know how you were doing and that you haven't dropped off the planet.

I'm so sorry for the loses in your family. What a sad time all of you must be having. I'm so glad there was a wedding as well and that your DH was the moment of immense entertainment.

    Take care of yourself.

So very sorry for all your losses :(( That's just too much to bear :(( Understandable you have been away from Sparkpeople.
To get your water in at work take a thermos with ice cubes and a dash of lemon in it for a refreshing cold drink in your hot weather. Make it a big one and refill until you get your eight cups!
It was nice to hear from you! But taking care of yourself has to be your number one priority!

glad to see you back with Sparks, it has been awhile, I still try to get in often, it gets harder,
sorry to hear of your loses, it is so hard, but I know having a family wedding was very nice, it is important that we have good times together
hope your new program gets you started dripping weight again, I know how hard it is to lose, I just try to maintain, I have figured that I am not going to lose anymore weight, and I think for my age and lifestyle, I am about where I need to be. (good excuse huh)
