Yesterday was ....

Yesterday was a bust for me. I never got around to taking my long walk, which I usually do on Sunday. Instead I stayed in and cooked. I made meatballs in cabbage, carrot soup, kale soup, cooked a week's worth of catfish nuggets for breakfasts and portioned them out, cooked up a batch of my veggie stuff and portioned out for breakfasts too (I eat weird every morning but I like it). I chopped onions for DD beer onion roast that she will be making either today or tomorrow. Chopped more kale than I like to think about, and finally I glazed a ham for dinner which my DH was very excited about. DD made bread when I finally (!) got a chance to sit down briefly. And that is when it occurred to me that I had never gotten to take my walk. It was already starting to get dark and, honestly, I just didn't have it in me. So I sat and rested and later, when my oldest showed up for dinner we all sat together and enjoyed each others company. So I may not have gotten my exercise in the more traditional way I would like to think that I worked out my arms with all my chopping and lifting of the heavy pan that the ham was in. I stirred, for hours, in front of my stove and stood and took over 3,000 steps around my kitchen getting spices out and different knives, etc. And I made the rest of my week that much easier by taking that one day and doing so much. I don't get in that kind of cooking mood often but when I do - watch out. I guess it is a warmup for the upcoming holidays and I like to think that I passed since I did not overeat on anything and what I prepared is all healthy stuff when portioned out. So I will chalk yesterday up as a day of rest and relaxation and I am ready now to go back to my exercise routines.
