Yesterday was ....

Yesterday was a bust for me. I never got around to taking my long walk, which I usually do on Sunday. Instead I stayed in and cooked. I made meatballs in cabbage, carrot soup, kale soup, cooked a week's worth of catfish nuggets for breakfasts and portioned them out, cooked up a batch of my veggie stuff and portioned out for breakfasts too (I eat weird every morning but I like it). I chopped onions for DD beer onion roast that she will be making either today or tomorrow. Chopped more kale than I like to think about, and finally I glazed a ham for dinner which my DH was very excited about. DD made bread when I finally (!) got a chance to sit down briefly. And that is when it occurred to me that I had never gotten to take my walk. It was already starting to get dark and, honestly, I just didn't have it in me. So I sat and rested and later, when my oldest showed up for dinner we all sat together and enjoyed each others company. So I may not have gotten my exercise in the more traditional way I would like to think that I worked out my arms with all my chopping and lifting of the heavy pan that the ham was in. I stirred, for hours, in front of my stove and stood and took over 3,000 steps around my kitchen getting spices out and different knives, etc. And I made the rest of my week that much easier by taking that one day and doing so much. I don't get in that kind of cooking mood often but when I do - watch out. I guess it is a warmup for the upcoming holidays and I like to think that I passed since I did not overeat on anything and what I prepared is all healthy stuff when portioned out. So I will chalk yesterday up as a day of rest and relaxation and I am ready now to go back to my exercise routines.

That's great that you prepared your meals for the week and got to enjoy a dinner with your family.

    Have a good week!

emoticon Preparing ahead like that is great. You're getting plenty of exercise during the week so a day without a walk isn't going to set you back. I've been thinking about making Kale Soup.

I wouldn't call it a bust at all! Like you said, doing all of your cooking for the week will allow you to be able to exercise each day without having to worry about it. And you were still burning calories. I say emoticon
