Grateful Introvert

Sunday, November 17, 2013

Okay, well, today was a MUCH better day than any this week. I think between work stress, life stress, and simply too much on my plate, I'd reached the end of my rope. My DH is in Florida visiting his parents for a few days, so I was lucky enough to be able to take the whole day to center myself, buy and cook healthy food, go for a long walk in the sunshine, snuggle with my kitties, and drink LOTS of water. (I think I'm up to 16 glasses already.) The only person I spoke to out loud today was the Trader Joe's cashier. I needed that so badly, and I'm grateful for it. Sometimes there is no substitute for a quiet day alone.

Feeling good about the week to come, though it will be another crazy one. Hang in there everybody, and try to keep centered as we go into the holiday season. I'm going to spend the evening reading Robert B. Parker novels (the Appaloosa series—an old favorite).

16 glasses of water? You'll be getting your exercise back and forth to the bathroom LOL

Sounds like a wonderful day. Wish I could have one like that. I am an INFJ introvert and have a special needs son that shouts a lot, among other things. My husband doesn't understand that I sometimes need time to alone to defrag from sensory overload. My kids are amazing blessings that enrich my life so much, yet I need to find ways to replenish myself with little down time. Sorry to leave all this on your blog. I'm just struggling at the moment and just found your blog and related to it.
