Good Saturday.

Saturday, November 16, 2013

I am a school nurse at a high school. (yes...teenagers) They make me laugh everyday and they make me crazy sometimes too. I truly care about them.

Yesterday was a bit stressful with some issues. I think what makes it hard sometimes is when some of the parents are rude. (not all though- we have some really GREAT parents) I can understand that they are worried, but for the most part extreme rudeness is just not even right. I can tolerate some rudeness from teenagers just because the part of the brain that governs maturity is not quite fully developed yet. To have extreme rudeness coming from grown adults is very hard to swallow.
I have to remember to pray for these individuals. It's the only way I'll get over it.

Anyway, I usually turn to food for stress. I normally would have eaten like an animal today.
PTSE- Post Tramatic Stress Eating

But so far I'm doing okay. Still within calorie range. I was tempted after breakfast, but I just started cleaning and conquering Mt. Laundry. I also started to drink more water too.

So, I am done ranting. Sorry if it was a little negative today. I try to keep it positive but I had to share my little Saturday victory.

Have a great day everyone!

Rudeness is not right and I'm not excusing what you experienced by any means. But I have found that when people are irritable and rude it's usually because they are dealing with other issues that leave an underlying current that affects their exterior behavior. I know at times I have not been as cheerful around people as other times simply because I had something difficult on my mind. It's not your fault that someone else was rude to you so don't punish yourself by sabotaging your weight loss journey! You are winning over PTSE! emoticon emoticon

Wow! You handled this very well. That is the kind of thing that triggers my stress eating. But you made it. Good for you. Love the PTSE. Gotta remember that. Lol.

I, too, taught for 30 years. Every time I have a situation like that I'm reminded of a story I heard years ago at one of the first school day know the ones that always say this is going to be the best school year ever. After 30 years, I must admit that I did begin to wonder. Anyway, here's the story:

A mother went in to wake up her son on the first day of school. He whinned, "No, mom, I don't want to go to school. No one likes me. The teachers don't like me. The students don't like me. I don't even think the janitor likes me. Name one good reason why I have to go to school." The mother smiled and said, "Because, Johnny, you're the principal."

Bless your heart you have my total sympathy and empathy. I understand rudeness shown by parents in the school scene. I taught for 30 years. One parent had to be escorted out and threatened by the police one day. Some people can blow up if you wore a color that did not suit them. Ha! Kidding! Some really do get upset over minor things. However for the most part, I had wonderful parents that was a dynamic help to me throughout my career.

    Best wishes.

That's another great way to avoid the fridge, come here and BLOG. Blog until your heart's content and the craving has gone.

Rude adults are everywhere unfortunately. I'm mainly talking about the ones who have a rude attitude as their character. Something made them that way. I just pray for them also - I'd hate to be in their lives and live with themselves - it would be awful. I can't imagine they would sleep and wake up refreshed as the attitude would wake up with them. You can only feel compassion for them and pray God works in their life from the inside out.

    Have a great weekend!
