Thank you to everyone who shared words of advice and encouragement. I really appreciate your support.

Unfortunately, my second opinion didn't go as I had hoped. It turns out that my condition is so severe that I will not only have to replace both hips, but also both hip sockets as well.

The arthritis specialist referred me on to a hip surgeon for consultation and give me a prescription for a heavy duty pain med to help me until my next appointment.

I'm less scared than I was before, because atleast now I know what I am dealing with. I am still battling anxiety and depressing thoughts that pop up whenever I think about what's going on. Sometimes its hard to stop the darkness from swallowing me whole.

I'm not going to give up though. I worked out yesterday and I'm so glad that I did. I couldn't do a full workout but was able to do some push ups and a plank. I'm supposed to stay away from weight lifting for awhile, especially lower body exercises. The doctor said that it could make my condition worse.

So I'm going to focus on eating healthy and doing what I can to stay active. My goal tomorrow is to get in 10 minutes of cardio.

Hey! I have not forgotten about you. We are the same age and I wanted to show you some support. I can understand where you are coming from as I have my own share of health issues and I am sure right now it is really scary to hear that something could be wrong with you.

As a friend I want to say that you can overcome this. I admire your determination and want you to know that attitude changes everything. Allow yourself to be human, feel your emotions but also remember that tomorrow is another day and you will get through this.

I am certain that in a matter of time you will be on your way to moving just like you were before this diagnosis. Just know, that whatever comes your way, it is to make you a stronger, more mature and wiser person.

Keep your chin up and I wish you an awesome New Year. emoticon

    Much Love,

    Sending up prayers. emoticon

I have bone pain issues because of cancer, and like you, I can handle what is going on better when I know exactly what I am dealing with.

I hope the surgery bring pain relief, and I hope the new meds work in the meantime.

If you are in a lot of pain, I hope you can have surgery soon. I only had one complete hip replacement, but should never have waited as long as I did. I am so glad that I finally did it. I can do almost everything, again. I wasn't very patient during recovery time, but had no choice. In the meantime, the pain can really get you down. Wishing you the best possible solution.
    Good luck!
