Wow there is a learning experience

I was craving a BLT so I went to Sonic and ordered a BLT Toaster. 510 calories, 26g fat, 1000+ mg sodium. Next time I'll just ignore the craving and make my own when I get home! Sheesh!

It didn't kill my day though because I just adjusted accordingly. This is a lifestyle not a diet so I have to be adaptable and learn from my experiences. Right now I'm eating steamed veggies olive oil and balsamic.

I'm looking forward to having some down time this weekend. Sunday will be bittersweet, it would have been my Dad's 75th birthday. He passed away after a long battle with heart disease and a short hospice stint on March 31. I miss him so much. I really thought about not going at all and just spending the day alone at one of our favorite places but I would regret it and my family would be upset and it's just not worth the drama. We all loved him and miss him and we have grown closer so I'm sure it will be a good day, or as good as it can be.

There is this coffee shop he just loved to go to. I am having a late lunch with a friend Saturday and I think after that I might head over there and sit in their "quiet room" and write for a while. I haven't been able to bring myself to go back there since he passed. We went there the week before he went into the hospital for the last time. I promised myself that I would write one short story a week and what better place than there right? I haven't really lived up to that and my Dad loved my stories so it's only fitting that I use that venue.

Anyway the family is gathering to honor Dad's memory, share stories and EAT! Ham, scalloped potatoes, my Mom's famous mac n cheese, my apple onion cheddar strata, key lime pie ... holy cow I may skip my weigh in on Monday. :) No no everything in moderation this is my life so I have to learn how to live it in every scenario. Although I have to tell you my Mom's mac n cheese is hard to resist, it's like a drug! I have these amazing cooks in my family and it's so hard to eat healthy or in moderation when there is so much of it!

Oh I also got paid today so I'm headed to join the gym near my house. Woohoo!

So that is my weekend, what plans do you have?
