Day starting out great. Got my first full bath in shower. Getting stronger every day. Man coming Sat to check house out for wheelchair. That way it will be done when approval comes thru. Bill will enlarge bedroom door today and ramp in front is almost done.
I am drinking the amount of fluids I am allowed and have not touched a salt shaker. That has been the hardest. I put no extra salt on anything. That is a biggie and yes I am proud of myself.
Our daughters are bringing us cooked meals which is nice. Heather brought one of my favorites last night. It is a recipe I gave her that she uses a lot.Chicken with cream cheese on it and rolled up.Then just dump salsa on it and bake. We like yellow rice as the side. Can't get a correct calorie count but can come close.
Once I get wheelchair Bill and I will cook together when I want something a different way. He has come a long way as a cook.
I am doing great with tracking all calories and staying in my range. Did a lot of planning to have low cal snacks to take edge off hunger and over eating. One thing is thing bread sticks. I have them in baggies that I put 36 calories worth in. I don't eat whole bag. I munch on a bite now and then. Another thing I use are low fat eggo waffles. I put 2 cut into quarter pieces which are 18 each. These for middle of night when I sometimes am hungry.I also keep bag of grapes close by and count 5 cal per grape. These are kept in a drawer next to my chair.
I also have a place to keep calculator, calorie chart, small scale which is only 3x4 inches, sharp knife,Bag with measuring cups and spoons. Cups just for a visual for me.Everything I need to get calorie count for foods.

Still have a long road but it is slowly getting shorter. Keep the prayers going

Oh...I'm SO thankful and happy that you are recovering so nicely! I LOVE the idea that you have kicked salt to the curb. Maybe you might like some of the MS Dash which is a salt substitute and brings out the flavor in food with herbs. But check first with your doctor. I hope you are able to soon get back to your wheel chair exercises...just a tiny few to keep your blood circulating. I also hope that you can have some massages, maybe just Bill rubbing your back or arms or legs to move your lymph which keeps your blood clean.

It's soooo wonderful that you can blog a little bit here and there...I know the love of your sparkie family and your own is carrying you through and you will only get better and better.

Love you my sweet and beautiful friend! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Glad you have had a good day and pray for a good night! A shower always makes things better! Sounds like you have everything under control! Can you have bananas? Cut them in slices and freeze, then put into portions size bags, very good snack!
Prayers going up for you for a good Sat.

So happy to hear you had a good day!! Putting snacks in a Baggie pre-counted is a great idea! I should be doing more than that. It's so easy to eat 2+ servings when you take the whole box or bag of something.

Kudos to you for cutting salt. That is not easy, but it's something you have to do. Keep up the good work! Love ya!

    Hi Eleni........
I am so glad to read that you are getting stronger each day. You are also taking many proactive measures to ensure that your diet is as healthy as possible. It all helps!!!

Bill is also doing such a wonderful job of getting your home wheelchair-ready. And your kids are making wonderful meals............the fact that you are a great wife and mother is showing in the way they are caring for you now.

    I am still praying...........Take care.

  • ALIALI2013 know...if Bill had the wheelchair...all he'd have to do is ram it into the doorway a couple times and sooner or'd just have to give and he really wouldn't have to do much work from there, right? Or better yet..let you do it, that way you'd be getting your exercise and all in one full that sounds like fun, because you'd be getting any frustrations out at the same time..see, everything works out for the best!

Oh great news on the not touching the salt shaker. *leans forward and looks at you* you've not touched the salt box either, have you? *G* Ok, just asking, no extra salt is great, I'm proud of you, too!!

*Whispers* you do know that's a sneaky way to get your daughters to cook for you, don't you...but it is a great idea...I'll have to remember that. *L* That chicken sounds delicious, especially with the rice on the side.

Good for you, being able to track the calories, if you want to track more.... *smiles and holds up my calorie counter tablet and points to it, then sets it down again.* It was worth a try, you know.

You sound like you're well organized, great job, and hey, the prayers aren't ever going to stop for you, Lady, never worry about that. You're such an encouragement, for everyone, I'm sure. Thank you for that!! emoticon emoticon emoticon (had to put that in there so you could practice using it on the wall *LOL*

So happy to see the improvement in your health. So proud of you keeping the salt shaker hidden away----we do have control you know we just have to be in charge of our brain!!
Glad Bill is helping with the cooking, and sounds like the house modification is coming right along.
Big Hugs and much Love sent your way.
