Making myself accountable to you, my friends

Friday, November 15, 2013

Today Zairul has travelled up north with work for three days to oversee the installation of a machine press that he has designed for the manufacture of the bonnet for the new 7 series BMW (not out yet!). See what a clever boy he is.

I always think I'll cope admirably when he is away and that I'll study lots, but invariably I am sad and lonely without him and, being demotivated, I chat online instead and get a lot less done than I should. I don't bother to cook just for myself, then end up snacking inappropriately to fill the gap.

As such, I am making myself accountable to you, my friends, to keep me on track, because there is actually a lot I need to do this weekend other than fritter away time.

My jobs this weekend are:

- Laundry and ironing
- Weekly grocery shopping
- Take care of sick fishy!
- Vacuum the house
- Final coat of paint in the upstairs bathroom
- Sew the hem in my new suit trousers that has become undone
- Put into the garage the suspension unit that has been lying on our kitchen floor for months
- Put into he shed the pond vac that I left out to dry in the gym
- Hair cut

Additionally I am due to go to the gym tonight for cardio, again tomorrow for my strength day 3 workout, and again on Sunday for cardio and a swim. I never feel sufficiently motivated to do gym when I'm alone, so this is really important. I'm sat in front of my pc way too much as it is either working or studying so I need to work out to keep mobile and sort out my neck, shoulder and back ache.

So, now I've told you about my fitness goals and tasks for this weekend, I am hoping that it will keep me motivated to stay on track, be fit, be productive and eat properly.

Thank you for being my friends and for being there

Well, I did it. Completely finished the bathroom, fitted a new toilet seat and replaced the blinds, vacuumed the house, did grocery shopping, cut my hair, sewed the hem in my new suit trousers, and even did gym.

Zairul has been working very hard away for BMW and did not finish work on Friday until 3am (Saturday morning) and was up again at 7am on both Saturday and Sunday. He's been working around the clock without a break and will be exhausted when he gets home. Just as well that he'll come home to a nice, tidy, clean house!

Impressive! You've kept busy! (But what happened to the hair-cut?)

I've done laundry, shopped groceries, looked after a friends cat, taken kiddo to the play-ground and cooked dinner today. All in all I'm satisfied with my efforts. Now I plan to have some (more) chocolate chia pudding and wine.

OK, it's 5.30pm UK time. Jobs completed so far:

    Laundry
    Ironing
    L
    ook after my fish
    Paint bathroom
    Put away pond vac
Put away suspension unit sat in our kitchen for months!
Buy new toilet seat and draught excluder for conservatory (the toilet seat's not for the conservatory!!)
Full work out at the gym (65 minutes) plus swimming, and spa!
And I cooked and ate sensibly!
Did some housework and other bits and pieces and watched 2 episodes of Captain Scarlet while I did the ironing!

Not so bad I suppose; the rest I will do tomorrow!

Z will be so impressed when you show him everything you've accomplished. And so will we when you share with us on Monday all that you got finished.

Ok my list... Find a hotel in Key West for December vacation, find substitute pebbles for a customers order, get clothes list together for Spring order, spray lawn with weed killer, grocery shopping, steam mop basement floor.

Good grief, what possessed me to join you on your quest to be productive this weekend? I guess we'll see who gets through their list the most. Challenge on?

I'll make sure to check up on you. Especially on the hair-cut, because that's the most important task, right?

Sorry to hear fishy is still feeling under the weather, but happy to hear he is still hanging in there. That's good news! (I wish I could have seen him, I've been reading up on pond fish now, I normally only deal with wild marine life.)

    Have a good weekend!

Jonathan! Don't just sit here reading this! Get moving! emoticon But... you have my sympathy about not wanting to do anything except mope when your sweetie isn't there. emoticon However, think of how great you will feel on the other side of that mountain of work. Such accomplishment should be rewarded! What will it be? emoticon Pick something to work toward and then... dig in! I know you can do it! Hup, hup, hup! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Blessings, JOY
PS Let me know when you are done! emoticon emoticon
