"Order and simplification are the first steps toward the mastery of a subject."

Thomas Mann

Isn't that the truth!! When I first started this SP journey I had to really learn to get myself together, ORGANIZE - simplify (back to basics) my food choices, plan my day, prioritize and FOCUS. Once you get into the groove of healthy eating and workouts it begins to feel natural, like it was meant to be and pretty soon you really 'get it'!!! Maintenance is a BIG challenge, but it's the path to mastering this new healthy lifestyle and way of living so fully.

Had a great day with lots of running around between bus routes. I heard a guy on TV today who was phenomenal. Some days I think or say 'I have to go to work.' His philosophy is - 'No, you GET TO go to work.' So many people are OUT of work, without a job, but you....you GET TO go to work. You're one of the very lucky ones. No matter the challenges, frustrations, headaches - they're all a blessing that so many people would love to have. Fresh perspectives are always good.

Thank you! As one who has experienced first-hand the frustration, depression, and feelings of worthlessness that come with being rejected by every potential employer, I really appreciate this point of view. I have also come to realize that even when the job does NOT materialize, I am still a worthwhile person. And my lack of a job has given me the ability to respond to some pretty serious health crises in my family in a way my employed relatives could not. All the different seasons of life have their frustrations; but if we can trust in God's presence and love in our lives, we can find a way to cope with them. emoticon

Yes, DH would agree with that . . . GETTING to go to work. He doesn't deal well with idle time. **SIGH**

LOVE the quote and it IS 100% true. It's all about getting back to the basics. Even when there's a rough patch in maintenance, it's generally because I've strayed from the basics . . . at least for me. Weighing and measuring are something that just is for me because portion size is not my strong suit over time. It just grows.

HUGS and hope you have a great Friday.
