A different computer and staying on track

Sunday, November 10, 2013

Yesterday I was cold so much of the time, for some reason. Working on my frustrating computer probably had to do with it (somewhat stressful!). Then I had to go into town and get some things done with my son in law and my daughter. That took some time. We got his computer over here and found out that my monitor doesn't work with it. Okay... I was soooo hungry by then (had not thought I'd be out so long so was well past when I should have ate)- which made me super duper tired. Anyway, hubby and I ate at their place and watched a movie with them. Then the other computer that we'd gotten for them was discovered that it had a connector that fits on my monitor (we had brought it over there to see if it would fit the new computer and then the other could come home with me if so). So he gave me the connector. I was told that they had not gotten anything off the computer- that I would need to delete and save stuff. That they didn't have any discs.
Last night all I got to do was a complete system recovery on the old computer that I couldn't seem to get to work well anyway- but maybe someone else can (thinking of offering it on freecycle), and then work on a backup of the new-to-me computer. I decided to go to bed at one this morning after putting in maybe the fifth dvd for the backup. When I got up I had to keep going with that yet.
After a bit I was finally able to start loading on some of my own stuff, and putting things on that I want to use- bookmark things and all.
Then I had to do copies of the pictures onto discs. My husband was told he could have copies too so I made two copies of each. It took 5 dvds and 1 cd to transfer all their pictures for them. The cd was of my daughter's things, so I just did five other dvds for my hubby (those pictures were of mountain trips).
He was in some of those pictures, and he'd hiked all those mountains before.
Anyway, there is still more to put on the computer and one program is not behaving right. I'm hoping the place I bought it from will resolve the issue.
I am proud of myself that I brought food for myself last night that I knew was best for me. The rest of the family had pancakes, syrup and bacon. After we left there we gassed up the car and decided to splurge on eating out for a little something (the movie was a few hours long)- I got a salad. Hubby got a sandwich and onion rings (BOY did they smell good!). We pulled over, perpendicular to parking spaces that weren't in use, and after a few minutes a police jeep stopped next to hubby's side of the car and asked if everything was all right. He said yeah, we're just having something to eat. He said okay. :)
I was not thrilled with the salad. I had no idea that it was going to have bleu cheese on it- and I'm allergic to it (don't like the taste at ALL). I tried to get as much off of it as I could...
Oh yeah (boy do I keep backtracking), I went to JCP to use a ten dollar off coupon the other day. I was pretty pleased by how I looked in some pants I tried on. Oh, the dress pants didn't fit right (not loose enough), but I liked how my body looked in them just the same. I've come a long way to say that.

Good luck with the computer! And nice job on the salad, too bad about the blue cheese (I can't stand the stuff either!)

I sure hope you get the computer all fixed, just reading what you had to do stresses me out. I have had to try and fix mine so many times, glad my son has been helping lately.
Good job on your eating, too bad they put that dressing on it.
Glad you liked how you looked in those pants. emoticon

emoticon on the salad but remember that since you have been away from the fried foods they don't taste as good and sometimes makes you feel every sick to the stomach.
