9. What supports do you need in your life to help you reach your short- or medium-term goal or challenge? Do you have those supports? What undermines you in reaching your goals? How do you use those supports to your advantage? How do you work around those things that undermine you?

I don't really need much in the way of outside support to meet my goals. It is mostly a matter of self discipline and willpower. In order to meet my fitness goals I need to get my tush in gear and DO the things I need to do. Same with my nutrition goals. In order to stay within my calorie range I need to be aware of how much effort I am expending and eat just enough to support that expenditure. As for my social goals... I just need to let others be a part of my life. I am not a recluse or a troll, I can be sociable if I try. I enjoy visiting with friends, so it is worth making the effort.

What undermines my self support? Well the weather doesn't help! And I have a couple friends who try to feed me junk food. Normally I can resist, but every once in a while I cave. This occasional lapse encourages them more, I think.


Going out for a short run in a few minutes. Winter is fast approaching. We had a nasty rain/snow mix yesterday. It was nice when I was out walking Cooper this morning though. The sun even came out for a little while! Of course, now it is raining again, but I am determined to get that run in. I don't know if that makes me crazy or just determined?

Tomorrow I have to take Cooper back to the vet. Then lunch with my parents. I am soaking the kamut, and I have wheat berries, carrots, onion, celery and cheese to stuff a hubbard squash. I love stuffed squash. Especially on a cold day. My brother wants me to add sausage to the stuffing, but I might just cook up a small piece on the side for him and he can add his own. Compromise is a wonderful thing.
