Status Reports and Ponderings

Carbo binge recovery report: symptoms are getting better, but poundage is still up. I know it's water and other 'stuff' cuz I can see it on my hip line. What's going in is definitely NOT coming out!... emoticon I know it will resolve as long as I stay on my eating/water routine.

Stress report: Moved dad's stuff to new asst'd living. He's in hosp for physical rehab, so I only had to deal with big bro and his 2 oldest sons who are in their early 20's. They were the hired muscle, but I packed boxes, dealt with admin details, said good byes. Had a good talk with my big bro. After our blow-out when my head finally popped off( after 25 yrs of taking crap), we re-connected via text. Since we are both 'word persons', it's worked great!

Anyway, moving out was bittersweet. Old asst'd living is very 'Stepford' (Think "Stepford Wives"). When dad no longer fit the profile, they evicted him. Sad that people/places are like that and that his health is declining and he has to move away from his friends. Happy that the new asst'd living is SUPER GLAD to have him. It's a very nice place with nice staff. They have a Memory Care wing when/if needed, so no more moves! emoticon

Happiness report: Work will start today to get outside of house painted

Painter showed up yesterday as planned to powerwash, but I forgot (see above), so he had Monday off while dh & I chopped away bouganvilla, palms, cleaned porch of remaining Halloween decor and cleared the house perimeter of all dh's various 'good stuff' items. (He's a 'Sanford & Son' guy plus his family is from Hawaii, so he loves and has cultivated the 'jungle look' in our yard. I prefer the 'English Garden' manicured look, but I gave up that battle long ago... emoticon ) There's still a bit of chopping to do, and I'll get to it after my HOT skinny mocha emoticon and SP Time emoticon

So I'm juggling 3 home improvement projects (family room, outside house painting and rental house inside/outside painting). Plus I've got 4+ rooms in queue that I want to re-paint. This makes me happy, happy, happy! but makes my dh crazy, crazy, crazy. emoticon

Interesting that after 28 years together I'm learning something new about dh. 'His' 3 car garage is FULL of GOOD STUFF (Cars live in driveway) and our yards look like Kauai, but house / home improvement clutter send him off the deep end.

Something to ponder while I'm dealing with the Yapping Chihuauas of my day today..... emoticon

Your garage sounds like ours, my husband has it full of everything but our car.
