Was Taking a Week Off Really Worth It?

Monday, November 04, 2013

OMG! Today was uber-horrible.....I swear, it took me most of the morning to get through all the crap on my desk, all the while getting calls from my boss! I no sooner made it to my desk when the phone rang, and there he was! And why is it that when he actually does something, or has someone else do something, when I'm out, it's always half-assed?!! GRRR! emoticon

Needless to say, my day was long and tiring. You know, the entire time I was off my back didn't hurt even once. Even last night, after tilling most of the garden for an hour, my back was fine. My feet and legs were sore from walking, but my back was just fine. Halfway through the morning, I have that "bra-line" ache - STRESS! The same goes for heartburn. No heartburn all last week. I didn't have to take even one Zantac. By mid-morning, my throat's on fire. Good grief!! I'm doing my best to relax tonight, and you can bet I'm taking an entire arsenal of aspirin and Zantac with me tomorrow.

On a brighter note, I made some kick-ass chile for dinner, and have stayed within my calorie range. So far, so good!

It was raining on my drive home tonight, so no walking, and no gardening today. Hopefully, tomorrow will be dry. And less stressful.....

Sorry to hear that you had to deal with all of that today. Sounds like the stress really got to you since you had been feeling good having some time off. I hope the rest of the week is better!

Don't say that .. your week was amazing
.. a practice run of what life will be like when you can retire and only do what you want , when you want to do it !!

Please don't let any one steal your peace .. you go to work to make a living so you can afford the things you want in life
If you get to enjoy what you do .. it is a bonus
I'm pretty sure you really like what you do ... it is just the immaturity of the management of the office that has you in circles

Put your job in perspective and don't let anyone or anything change your stress-free mood.. I know you give 110% at work and I know you are a person of great honesty and integrity .
Just keep on keeping on ... smile in the face of stupidity .. laugh when you feel like coming unraveled .. it works .. we have what we create.. create and atmosphere of fun and peace .. even if it is a 4x4 square foot area .. jump in your free zone when ever you need to!!

I'm sorry your first day back was horrid .. only you can turn it around ..

I'll bet your boss thinks he's the best there is ... maybe start playing the game .. flatter him .. and see what happens .. he knows what triggers get you over the moon .. lets see if you can drive him nuts with kindness??
This is all a game .. lessons to be learnt and once we get them we move on to the next .. and the next

Call upon the heavens for the help you need .. you have a multitude of experts at your beck and call .. just waiting to be asked to help you

Back to reality .. a nice rain after your tilling and incorporating new nutrients is just what your soil needed to get it ready for planting .. do you have any seeds started ?? or straight into that rich soil you have created ??

As for me .. today the telephones should be getting hooked up ... and a couple of new desks being delivered for the reception area .. I took two of my tables from home into the lunch room so it is coming along nicely .. the dryer , fridge and stove , dishwasher and microwave will be delivered Wednesday ... great sale under 1900.00 for all .. that daughter of mine is a good shopper and a cheap skate like her momma

the shop is 80 x 200 .. so today every so often I'm going to make a couple of laps just to see how long it will take to get in a mile (timewise ) 5280 feet but lots of equipment to move around and I'm sure some interruptions lol

Our employee from New Brunswick is back .. and has moved into the half of the rig shack that the building contractor was working out of .. once we move into the office another one of our employees from British Columbia will move in ..
It really seems odd that Saskatchewan is going great guns .. we have mainly always been the spot in Canada that not much changes .. ( even our time loll ) but due to oil, gas and potash our province has been set on fire especially in the SE .. so if you know of someone experienced in drilling and has a work visa send them our way .. lots of opportunity here right now .. not sure how long it will last but we have been in business 25 years nothing ever as busy as this but made a living just the same.
Ramble Ramble ... jeepers .. sorry I had better get moving ..

Just wanted to let you know that you and only you can rise above the situation at work .. let me know how you make out
    huge hugs
