November 4 and still Blah

I haven't started my running training again yet. Heck, I've barely started tracking everything I eat again. I'm not focusing on drinking enough water.

But I haven't been sitting on my butt. I've been busy baking most of the weekend. Tried two new recipes too.

White Chocolate Cranberry cookies and

Chocolate Baked Doughnuts

Both turned out great. I did discover that I need to grind my brown rice flour a little bit finer - the cookies were slightly crunchy.

Hubby even tried to help me grind more flour this weekend.

It kind of worked. We ended up with 2-3 cups of white rice flour, and about 5-6 cups of sweet rice flour, but only because we were persistent. It honestly was not a good way to do it. We're putting the crank handle back until we can properly motorize my mill. For me, that is a priority project right now.

Anyhow, I also baked 3 dozen pumpkin cheesecake muffins, one dozen cinnamon buns, a dozen dinner buns. And put together 3 dozen perogies. I still have filling for 5-6 dozen more perogies, so now that I have my flour, time to get back to it.

I am still fighting this sinus thing. The sores in my nose are about 90% gone finally. I woke up with scabs again today - small ones that fell off right away. Here's hoping they are going to be completely gone soon.

It's getting colder here too. This morning it looks like it actually might start to snow. I've been busy and sick, and I still feel guilty about not getting my training started. Wow. I guess I really am hard on myself.

On the 16th there is a craft sale in Estevan. I have contacted the people. It'll cost me $55 for a table for the day. I have a banner and business cards coming in the mail - should be here by this Friday. Last night I got worried about this. What if I get crazy busy? Then I thought about it today. I'm not very busy with my day job. I can bake during the day, bake more batches, and freeze extra to go out later. I just need more freezer space to make this work. Sorry hubby, I'm going through your freezers and cleaning them out. Yes, two of them. Both stuffed full.

I'm still not 100% sure, but I think I'm going to go for it. If nothing else, it'll get my information out there. Maybe I'll get some interest in these new packs I've been putting together.

I have already set up some of my take home and bake yourself bags

They are set up in Packages, with clear instructions what wet ingredients need to be added to each Package inside each pack. How to roll them out (if necessary), and baking instructions. All very clear - I had hubby check it out and let me know if it all made sense or not.

I was getting excited about this upcoming craft sale, but hubby got upset by it. I told him it felt like he didn't like that I was doing this. He admitted he didn't want me selling everything I bake. I told him all he had to do was ask - I'd bake him whatever he wants. Plus I usually bake extra for us to keep, especially when we have freezer room. He also doesn't want me to sell too many chocolate peanut butter cups.

I guess these are one of his favorites.

Funny for a man who told me he really doesn't like baking at all. He definitely doesn't mind my cinnamon buns going out the door. lol.

Anyhow, It's cold and miserable out there today. So I'll be in the kitchen today. More perogies. Deciding what I want to bake for the 16th.

Time for me to get up off the couch and get started. Hope you all have a great day!

    Yummy! emoticon I think it's important not to be too hard on ourselves.... but also not to lose sight of our goals. Maybe start small... like, with the water and tracking your food (no matter what it is that you eat). Although personally I think we deserve extra credit or something, for baking and not eating it all. emoticon Surely that's got to burn *some* calories.

    Stay strong. I'm really hard on myself too, but let's not be too hard. The weather is changing, we had our first freeze this weekend and the growing season was officially declared 'over' for the year. Well timed with the last of the Harvest Festivals too.

    I see you're really working hard! emoticon God knows my days wouldn't be, as you say it, "blah" with those beautiful baking products in them. emoticon I love to bake but half the time I'm to busy, and other half - mostly I don't have any ingredients. emoticon Really nice that your hubby wants to help you!
