It's Movember. Men, time for your DREaded

Digital Rectal Exam, your PSA test and, perhaps, your colonscopy.

Movember is a world-wide program focusing on prostate cancer and men's mental health. Check out

My new profile pic shows my gone moustache as I join the Movember campaign and start over with a new moustache beginning November 1.

Man-up, guys. Get checked. For prostate cancer. *And* don' be reticent about addressing potential mental health issues. We've got to stay healthy, physically and mentally, for all those we love who depend on us to be our best for them.

Thanks for highlighting something most men don't want to do! DRE-eaded/Digital Rectal Exam--like the way you did that ;-).

Although it is a touching moment of intimacy between the doc and the patient, the terms Digital Rectal Exam and "Man-up" create a conflict I am unable to get past until they start an open bar after you flash your insurance card.

Good news is that I do get an annual physical with DRE and PSA included. I had my 2nd Colonscopy last year so I am repeat customer! Dr remembered me from the 1st test, I however, didn't remember them. I just recall the nurses putting my in position on my side and thinking, no peeking!

I applaud you for spreading the word about men's health! Thank you! Movember is about more than an awesome mustache. (And any guy who reads this and *cringes* at the idea of a colonoscopy -- don't be afraid. You won't remember a thing!)
