I'm absent

Monday, October 28, 2013

I haven't been blogging or logging in any stats at SP for a long time now, I've cut my time back posting here. I used to read so many blogs and post on at least a hundred threads a day....not anymore. I still have favorite blogs I read with email alerts but that's about all. I'm back in my yard doing the Autumn mode thing pruning and planting bulbs and such, running out of daylight time to get done all that I want to do. I did promise some photos from my reunion so I'll do that (I've been on a bunch of small trips since then as well).

this is my Mom and her niece, they both looked at this photo and said they each looked like their mothers, after the reunion we stayed at this neice's home for an extra day in Carmel, what a beautiful place she has.

here some of us gathered at El Torrito for dinner, my brother is on the right in blue. Unbeknownst to him he became a Grandfather while we were eating, the baby came a little earlier than expected but everything turned out fine. His daughter just came for a visit with her little guy to see Great Grandma I'll post a few of those photos. The baby was so quiet didn't cry once in 4 hours (which was all the visit we had before she went back to her Mom's house with her brother.
My Mom and I took a trip by train, bus and cruise from Los Angeles to Vancouver and back. It was fun sleeping in a train cabin, the toilet and shower were all one unit, so if you took a shower you had to use your towels to dry the toilet to use it. Saw almost the same scenery as when we drove up to the reunion, since the railroad tracks follow PCH1 most of the way. We disembarked at Klammouth Falls to see Crater Lake then took the bus to Vancouver where we returned via Princess cruiseship.

and my friend Chatty Cathy had a birthday so our red hatters gave her a party, here she is getting a gift.
My next big trip with AARP will be in Dec. to the Hearst Castle for an evening tour with everyone dressed in period costume and decorated for the holidays (they only do this twice a year)
