Another Medical event in our lives.

Monday, October 28, 2013

I have been MIA regularly from here for a while. A week ago Sunday my husband had to have emergency surgery this was exactly a month from another surgery. The latest surgery was for ingal hernia and removal of small section of the small intestine which got trapped and strangled and died.

On Friday he got to come home. DH has had renal failure for 9 years+ but the two surgeries (well actually three and being put to sleep twice for sleep put some major strain on his kidneys. For a while there his potassium level was high enough to effect his heart as well as his kidneys.

Mostly what I worked on last week when I was home was get some things put away so Zack could get around with his his walker that also has a seat on it (this is his new 4 wheels instead of a motorcycle) So he cold get to his TV area in the Den, the hall and what we call his bathroom.

Then last Monday I got the cast off my broken right hand I got in truck wreck we were in 7 weeks ago. I still have some pain and some fingers that don't want to work right. The break was in my meta carpal area not wrist or fingers that are giving me fits at time. Hopefully I will get some physical therapy started so I can regain complete use of my

I have been slowly sorting some things and getting rid of clutter. Today I want to finish in den-reading-dinning room area, kitchen, sunroom master bath and master bedroom. That is my husband's major pathway in the morning and evening. I won't completely get every thing done today but I will make a lot more progress. I will also finish the hallway (main thing there is vacuum) and finish up in what we call his bathroom.

Home health is coming in several days a week to change dress where he had surgery and Home health physical therapy is also to start.

I am slowly loosing some weight with my increased activity assisting my husband and lack of appetite for overeating.
