Why is Facebook mad at me?

Sunday, October 27, 2013

This morning I got an email from Facebook telling me I'm temporarily blocked from commenting on the sites I enjoy. They gave me no reason and didn't tell me how long "temporarily" is. I dug into their Help section and was told that the probability was that I'd done something objectionable and that when the block was lifted, "please slow down or stop this behavior or we may have to disable your account permanently." WHAT BEHAVIOR??? They never told me what I did. I can't fix it if I don't know what it is!

Stupid as this may sound, I'm close to tears right now. It feels like when I was a child and my father would beat me but not tell me why he was mad at me.

It sounds fishy...I would definitely contact Facebook and find out more concrete information. Hope they can clear it up for you.

This is not you fault and you should not be taking responsibility for it. If you can still get on it probaby is a hoax. emoticon emoticon

Wondering if your FaceBook page was hacked. I have heard that in the past year, some people have seemed to have a new page, and it has contained some objectionable material. Your real friends do not know that it is not you posting.

Have you tried going on to your FaceBook page? Check to see if there are duplicate FB pages with your name. And definitely contact FB Security, find out what is going on, find out if your FB page was hacked, so they can shut it down.

    Good Luck!

So did you make it to church? Don't get upset about facebook. I think people read comments than "X" out of them. That reports the comment. It is a stupid facebook behavior. You can use the X to close everything else except comments.

have you tried contacting FB.... does sound weird....

This is so unfair. They at least need to tell you what the offense was and how long the block is in effect. Hopefully, it will be resolved soon.

Hope it gets fixed in a positive way.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I think that if your post has been "Mark or report as spam" by a handful of people that they will temporarily block you from sites.

Have you considered the possibility that the email itself was a scam? That is possibly the case especially if you can still access the site.

That is so crazy! Isn't it strange how we can feel guilty for things that aren't our fault? I think part of it is that it's so unexpected; we don't know we have to put up our emotional shields. A few months back, someone hacked into my e-mail and spammed all my friends and my groups. I felt so incredibly guilty!

Keep your chin up and remember that this was probably a spammer or something. It'll work itself out - and look how many new friends you got! emoticon

I don't do facebook, but maybe this is providing you with a reason to take a break from facebook before you get addicted!

You were most likely hacked. About 3 months ago I got back into my FB Page to find that I had a warning--apparently I 'friended' too many people at once. I hadn't been on FB in over a year. The amazing thing is the people I supposedly 'friended' friended me back emoticon ! Crazy! So I change my password every month and my Page is totally Private except to friends. I rarely get on FB anymore, anyway.

((((HUGS)))) I would think it's a glitch too. BUT, for me (and this is just my opinion) that's yet another reason why I don't facebook. Just too many hassels.

That being said, I hope you find out what the problem was/is and can get it resolved.

I'm sure it wasn't you; they have to have you confused with someone else. Hope this gets straightened out quickly for you. emoticon

I agree with Stitchingnan. I've seen some rated r stuff on there and the person who posted it did not get booted off. Must be a glitch. Hope you get back on soon. I love looking at the nephews and nieces post of their children on facebook.

I do not really know anything about Facebook, and I do not have an account there, but it seems like they should at least tell you what it was that you did. I am guessing this is probably some type of mistake, however, I don't know how to go about correcting the problem. I am very sorry this has happened.

Have you recently friend requested anyone? Once you get back on cancel any friend requests that haven't responded in a reasonable time before you request anyone else. Just a suggestion. (I've read this can be the main culprit.)

This happens more than we know. I know you're quick to take offense but please don't. Facebook is a Mega site. They have so many safeguards in place sometimes glitches happen.

I've seen some pretty harsh stuff posted on FB so you would probably have some idea "if" you posted something that might have offended someone. Just look at all the vile things that were posted about Paula Deen.

Again I know it will be hard for you not to take it personal but remember it's just FB with millions of members and with that millions of things can go wrong.

Someone most likely reported you for something you posted. Facebook doesn't have time to investigate every claim so you got a cookie cutter response.

I don't do Facebook but it doesn't make sense to me. Even when Sparkpeope takes down an account they let the person know why. Sparkpeople usually gives warnings as people blog about it before they disappear.

Are you sure there is not someone to contact to find out why?

I agree that makes no sense.

"The probability was"........huh? That explanation creeps me out - sounds extremely arbitrary! I wouldn't shed tears over this, though - there *are* so many other more important things worthy of tears! I myself would have quit FB altogether - after you, you and you alone (with perhaps the exception of any deity you follow :( ) know the whole truth and story!

On the other hand, I've been getting strange messages from one of my email address hosts claiming my address has been unused for too long and "recycled" - I would try again in a few minutes and I'm just fine! Makes ya wonder if your situation was a "technical glitch"! Perhaps there's some other means to find out the whole story rather than by "digging through the help section"?

I hope you get peace of mind on this ASAP - and remember.......this isn't worth tears! (Guess it's just as well I'm *not* on FB and not especially inclined to join!)

That does seem a bit weird and definitely unfair.
