Games Children Play

Do children still play games that do not require batteries?

Am I so old that the games we played as kids are now not only obsolete, but absolutely forgotten?

While I wasn't crazy about "Red Rover, Red Rover", I DID like "Red Light, Green Light", and Hopscotch and was quite fond oF group jump rope ... But the only one of those I've seen in modern times is group jump rope ...

What other games do you remember playing that you don't see anymore?

I loved Mother May I and one we called Strut Miss Lucy. Two lines of kids and yo had to walk down the middle in a funny way. And what about plain old Tag? and Hide & Seek after dark with flashlights?

I remember hop scotch and a game that we played that you had to break through the arms of the other team and if you didn't then you ended up on that team. Not sure what it was called.

Me and my grandsons just got through playing Mother May I today. We also like Simon Says.
