The season of celebrations and temptations will begin for me today. My darling daughter is coming for pizza for supper this PM so we may celebrate her birthday. I am planning to go to the store when DH gets back from auction to get an ice cream cake for her. It is something she really enjoys and does not have it too often. So . . . it begins!
Next Thursday is a harvest celebration with the church family. It is suppose to be outside with a bonfire. If it is as cold as it has been, I am not attending. One temptation over! Then Saturday is the lovely lunch for our friend's 50th Anniversary. It is being done by their grandson who is a chef. Oh, Lord, fill my mouth with worthwhile stuff and slap me when I've had enough!
November 14, family birthday celebration; Nov 16, ladies get together; November 28, Thanksgiving; November 30, family holiday celebration; Dec 14, church family celebration; Dec 21, family celebration; Dec 24, friend and family get together; Dec 25, Christmas; Dec 30, family birthday; Jan 1, family birthday (Hoping that these two will be combined sometime) and New Years luncheon with family.
It was this time of year that did me in last year. From the end of Oct thru Jan, I gained four of the pounds back that I lost so slowly!
I have a plan: sample a little of everything and eat a lot nothing! And, I must give myself a good talking to when someone offers peanut butter fudge. "Only, one, Barb. A slip of the lips and it shows on the hips." And, oh, the stuffing must be savored little by little!
And another part of the plan is to eat those almonds that curb my sweet tooth and decrease my appetite. Planning for a better "temptation time" than ever before.
I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.
