Setting Goals and Taking Challenges

Friday, October 25, 2013

I love that Sparkpeople encourages us to set goals. emoticon It makes me work harder toward my main goal of losing down to 140 pounds. emoticon I am still a long way off from that long term goal. I know I am going to get there. emoticon It is the short goals that makes the most sense to me. emoticon They have helped me to break bad habits and replace them with good ones. emoticon
Challenges are great, too! I try to be in at least 2 at a time. Challenges help me stay true to my path. I exercise more emoticon , I stay on track with my food emoticon , I drink the water I need each day emoticon , and make friends in the process emoticon . It is terrific! It makes me feel so nice, when I complete a goal. It is like a road I am traveling. I get to each destination and I feel joy in knowing what I am accomplishing. emoticon Then it is off to the next destination. After all, we are on a journey of healthy living. The benefits from living healthy is weight loss, better health, better outlook, better self-esteem, and many more positive things. Goal setting and the challenges help me get back up, when I stumble along the way. They give me a get up and go attitude when something throws me off the trail. Boy oh boy has that happened more than I would like to think about! Challenges and goal setting do work! We have to be willing to put the work into each goal and challenge. emoticon The results of the work we put into them really pay off. emoticon If you haven't set any goals short term or long, think about doing that. It gives you something to work toward. It helps you learn to replace some of those bad habits. Make sure to take challenges that fit your needs. Put yourself out there. Work at it! You will begin to see that goals and challenges will help you focus and make you try harder. emoticon Plus side of doing these two things is it helps you to become a better you. emoticon Happy healthy living to you! emoticon emoticon
