Most productive day in... uh... a while!!

Thursday, October 24, 2013

I did not manage to get myself out of bed early today, but once I did, the day got moving. We had to get the oil changed in the car today, and conveniently enough, the garage is right next to the apartment. So we dropped the car off for the oil change, and walked over to check dh's schedule at his store, then went to Wendy's for food. It was the first food I had eaten all day, and I made a good choice, so yay!

Also... did you notice it?... the word "walked". As in, exercise! It wasn't a ton, but I got in about 15 minutes of walking. We had to clean out the car as well, so that was a little extra exercise, bending and picking and carrying to the trash and so forth. I didn't log it or anything, just keeping the mental note that I moved a little bit.

When we were all finished at the garage, it was grocery store time. Nothing exciting to report on that little journey. The stores weren't too busy, and we didn't need very much {since I felt too crappy to cook the past week, we have lots of food left for next week.} I got some pears, apples and bananas, and some frozen strawberries and blueberries. After reading in the new ADA guidelines that fruit is good, I picked up a little extra. Also I got Otria yogurt dip to try. I got spinach artichoke and cucumber dill. I tried the spinach artichoke with some carrots and it was good, but I prefer hummus. I'm gonna try the cucumber dill with some sort of Greek style meal. I read in a magazine it makes a good sub for tzatziki sauce, so we'll see.

After we got home we sat down and did some nothing for a while, then started working on a little cleaning. My FIL is coming up on Saturday and I'm trying to get things cleaned up and ready for him. I seem to be moving in slow-mo on that, though.

And, the best news of all... I generally don't post about my weight fluctuations during the week, BUT this morning I was down 1.4 lbs from yesterday, to 260.2. I'm so close to the 250s I can taste it! Hopefully by Monday morning I can get off .3 more and be at 259.9. That would be an AWESOME start to the week!

Hope everyone has had an awesome Thursday!

An awesome day for you! You took that needed healing time yesterday and had a healthy day today. It is great you stocked up on your fruits and veggies, SP stresses the importance of getting at least 5 - 7 servings a day. Hope you will be ready for your FIL!

Congrats on the loss! It sounds like you had a good day and getting up and moving is crucial, even if it's not an official workout. I have become more conscientious about the little stuff like that (getting off the couch to get the remote instead of just watching the channel its on was my big movement tonight). I -feel- more active, which makes me want to do more.

Good luck with the house cleaning. My MIL is spending the night tomorrow and I'm supposed to be cleaning but...I'm here instead. Oh well.
