Stress Relief

Today was a stressful day.
For those that work, you know how you plan in your head what you will be doing that day on the way into the office? Today I had a plan and it was blown out of the air as soon as I walked into the office.

My manager supervises several different job functions. Mine is technical writer but the function I was asked to cover has nothing to do with that. It is facilitating a daily meeting and recording the issues raised during the meeting, and then generating and distributing the report. Normally it is not a big deal but today it was. Monday's are always bad. Lots of issues after the weekend (basically 3 days worth). There were 28 issues today.

To make a long story short, I had to cancel my personal training and did not go to my afternoon 3 hour meeting because of covering this other function. It threw my plans up in the air. I was stressed all day trying to plow through the issues and get the work done so I could get to my own work.

Anyway, I did finish around 3pm after working through lunch and skipping my afternoon meeting. I decided to get up and go for a walk. We were having lovely weather here in the Northeast so I went outside and walked around the building in the beautiful sunshine. Can't miss it while it's still around!

I left work late and was contemplating calling hubby for dinner out but decided on leftover lasagna and a kickboxing workout. After 30 minutes of kickboxing I felt great and hubby got home in time to make a salad. I am pleased with my choices of stress relief today!
