We have the choice everyday to be happy or to be bitter. Even right now, whatever our situation is, we can choose. Sometimes we can’t choose happiness on our own because we hold too many feelings of resentment and anger. Sometimes we can’t choose happiness on our own because we don’t want to let go of our selfish feelings. We want the other person to suffer because we feel hurt. However, God’s grace isn’t about holding grudges. His grace is about freedom. Freedom from bitterness and hate. God’s grace can cleanse us and our attitude toward others. Let’s choose to allow His grace to mend our broken relationships.
Hebrews 12:15 “Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, we can’t do anything without You. Right now, we pray You will give us what we need to remove the hate, the anger, the bitterness toward others. Release our wrong and selfish feelings so we can show love and grace to others. Help us today to live for You and to serve others in the way You want us to. Guide us today and cleanse us so we can be the person You created us to be. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
God’s grace can remove bitterness.
God’s grace can remove hate.
God’s grace can remove anger.
God’s grace can remove resentment.
God’s grace can remove jealousy.
1 Peter 2:1 “So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech.” (NLT)
