Way, way too long

gone! I have been going nutso at work, at home, at weaving. I have four great nephew/nieces that have arrived or will be arriving shortly. The last week has been an all out push to get the four baby blankets done so I can hand off two of them tomorrow night at a family gathering. At least I hope to hand off two of them. One is for the child of a niece that no one outside of her immediate family has met her husband or seen the baby. I hope my sibling is there so I can get the blanket started on the way to the little one since I do not have an address and was rebuffed when I asked for one. Go figure.

The second is for the daughter of a niece that lives in Mexico. My sister-in-law is going down later this month/early November so the blanket can go in her luggage. That niece I do have an email address so I can let her know the blanket is on the way.

Families. Really strange.

The first photo is my loom at home in the basement (trying to not show too much of the surroundings which are a mess!) . All four the blankets are woven on stripes 1.5 inches wide with different colors for the weft. The first one was a brown weft so the brown warp stripes look solid. The second one was blue and the third and fourth ones were purple. First one. Second one.

I spent time at my meeting today hemming. When I got home I spent more time hemming. All are now done and waiting for their first wash! So tomorrow I will have photos of all the blankets looking quite ready for a wee one to be wrapped in!
