Day 11 Rt 66 Challenge: Bring on Fall!

I have been watching the weather religiously the last couple days. Not only have I been watching the rain come through but the colder temperatures that have decided to follow. I have been lucky so far in that I have missed any major rain while on my runs (I will run in the rain if I have to but it is not my favorite thing to do!).

This morning there was no rain forcasted but there were temperatures in the 40s! I must have been more excited about this than I realized because I woke up before my alarm went off at 5. So I threw on a long sleeve shirt (YAY!) with my capris and headed out the door. When I stepped outside, it felt great and I couldn't wait to get started on my 4 miles. As I got into my run, I noticed that it just felt good so I pushed my pace a little bit and was able to finish the 4.08 miles in 44:07! That is a 10:48 minute mile! WOW! That is a personal best! I calculated it out and if I can continue my training and keep that pace for 9 more miles while doing the Route 66 Half Marathon, I will not only reach my goal of running it in 2:30, I will smash through and do it in 2:20! Holy smokes!
